Almost Complete 2

Dr. Zaaijer sat back in his chair, fingers steepled together, watching Jonathan through the one-way mirror that adorned the wall of his office. On the other side, Jonathan sat poised and serene, wearing a coral blouse that gently draped over his shoulders, paired with a floral skirt that swayed slightly with each subtle movement. His hands were folded delicately in his lap, and his legs crossed elegantly at the knees.

As Allison entered the room, Dr. Zaaijer gestured towards Jonathan. “Allison, I want you to look,” he said, his voice steady yet gentle. “This is the essence of Jonathan now—transformed into someone reflecting the grace and civility of another era.”

Allison approached the mirror, her heart racing as she took in the sight of him. It was both familiar and foreign—Jonathan’s face, but the demeanor of a demure woman from a bygone time. The contrast struck her deeply; she could see the subtle shine in his eyes, a softness that hadn’t been there before.

“What… how did this even happen?” she whispered, hardly able to pull her gaze away.

Dr. Zaaijer leaned forward, his eyes earnest as he lied. “It’s complex, Allison. His transformation is not merely psychological; it’s deeply rooted in the subconscious. He’s resonating with ideals and virtues from that era—kindness, politeness, femininity, and a sense of decorum. This change may reflect suppressed aspects of himself that he was never able to express.”

The implications of his words hung heavy in the air. Allison felt a shiver run down her spine. “But what does that mean for… for his life? For us?”

Dr. Zaaijer took a moment, allowing her to process the enormity of the situation. “This brings us to a critical juncture. If you believe this new personality suits him, you might consider a physical transformation to align with this shift. Not merely an appearance adjustment, but a holistic change that would harmonize his body with the femininity he now embodies.”

Allison's heart raced as she tried to wrap her mind around the choice presented to her. A physical transformation? The very thought seemed surreal. She imagined Jonathan in elegant dresses, the soft whispers of fabric brushing against skin, his hair falling in graceful waves around his face. But would that truly be him, or just a reflection of this new persona?

“I… I don’t know,” she finally confessed, her brow furrowing. “Is this something he would want? Does he even know what he wants anymore?”

“That,” Dr. Zaaijer replied, “is a crucial question.”

Allison sighed, feeling the weight of the world on her shoulders. “He’s still in there somewhere, isn’t he? The Jonathan I know?”

“Very much so,” Dr. Zaaijer assured her. “He may have changed on the surface, but at his core, he is still the same person. His essence remains, even if it’s cloaked in new fabric.”

With a nod, Allison stood, the uncertainty still swarming around her like a fog. “I need to talk to him. I need to understand who he is now.”

As she left the office, heart heavy and mind swirling with questions, a curious thought flickered within her. Perhaps this transformation, though bewildering, could unfold into something beautiful—if they navigated it together. Time would tell whether the path they walked would lead to a deeper connection or an unrecognizable divide. But one thing was clear: Jonathan’s journey was far from over. And for Allison, this was just the beginning of discovering who he—who they—could truly become.
